What is a ScrabbleVirgin ?

My definition of a Scrabblevirgin, would be someone that has never played Scrabble. Hard to believe.....

Scrabble is the worlds most popular game, and in my view, the best. You do not have to have a degree in English, or be a walking dictionary to be a good player. Scrabble is a very addictive game, and like chess, no two games will ever be the same.

Scrabble is a very tactical game, and not just about putting out long and impressive sounding words. Sometimes you can score just as much for a two or three letter word than a seven!

I was introduced to the game at a very young age by my mother and have been hooked ever since. Anyone reading this webpage will understand what I mean. There are two kinds of Scrabble players, the occasional player - they treat it as a board game, and something you while away an hour (average score about 250 points) , and the competive player - someone that not only wants to win the game but consistently wants to improve their score (score can be anywhere between 350 and 700) - my personal best score is just over 600 and that happened once in twenty plus years of playing the game and God knows how many thousands of games.

Of course there are even further divisions amongst the professional scrabble players, if you ever get a chance to see one of their boards you will not even recognise that the game was played in English.

My new hobby is website design, and Scrabble will always be one of my passions, so I thought why not combine the two, and you never know I may convert a few of the Scrabblevirgins into taking up the game, or the occasional players into competitive players.
